Learning HIV Discrimination Topic

In our Humanities class we have been thinking about the human rights and also the human rights that is not happening in Malaysia. By voting we had concluded to study and know more about HIV discrimination. I was shocked after knowing the stereotype forward HIV. Before I go right into HIV, I was already kind of surprised how the Universal Declaration of Human Rights wasn’t law but it was a choice for country to follow. Again back to HIV discrimination, I was having a hard time for finding the solution for this problem. Education was one of the best ways to stop this. I thought it was a good idea to help them realize that it is so dangerous for them to have it.  The disease HIV, will impact everyone. If we don't stop them from spreading, we will all get it some day. Since, people are getting it more and more these days the percentage of getting it the disease ourselves are also increasing. Also by learning this kind of topic is making me think that I am actually lucky to not have it and I want to help them too actually because I think it is a good idea to make more fortunate people more than the unfortunate people. This issue, HIV discrimination one of the global issue, people should now know about it more in order to help others and themselves.

How to Deal With a Dictators

Dictators are taking over the countries nowadays around the world. We should bring them down from the powerful position before they do more harm to the country or the people who lives there. One way to stop the dictator is assassination and I don't think this is a good idea to stop the dictatorship. In the book Julius Caesar written by Shakespeare, it is shown that by killing the dictator might cause a civil war occurring by the people who followed the leader. There is many other ways to get rid of the dictator. For this kind of dictators, it might have been good idea to overthrow him by collecting the group to make it more powerful than the dictator.

Recently, North Korea had tried their nuclear weapons to scare the countries. North Korea is one of the countries that has a dictator who should be removed. The military force had been terrifying to other countries too. Sometimes, military forces can drive out the dictator  but in North Korea, they are so loyal to their "President" it won't work for North Korea. For many other reasons too, UN had a meeting about the solution to stop them. The way they have thought was boycott. One of the allies North Korea had was China but now, they have seen to disagree with them like any other countries do. To stop the dictator, boy boycott is also a good way. If the dictator was too strong for the people to overthrow him in the country, there is also a way of making the bigger force outside of the country to overthrow the dictator.

Assassination

John F. Kennedy, the president of America was assassinated by a guy called Lee Harvey Oswold. John F. Kennedy was killed November 22, 1963 at Dallas Texas, he was shot by Lee Harvey Oswold. The reason why he was killed isn’t clear, however, there are theories surrounding his murder. Many believes he was murdered because he was a threat to Soviet Union and his murderer, Lee Harvey Oswold, was a Soviet Union sympathiser. Julius Caesar, he was also a threat towards conspirators because they saw him as a tranny leading the country in a bad way. So they disagreed with him, since they had different ideas. Like John F. Kennedy he was assassinated to conspirators.

Chaeli Mycroft.

WHAT IS CHAELI MYCROFT IS FIGHTING FOR

As you walk down the street, you see a girl with a handicap. She has limited ability of her arms and legs. She is bound to a wheelchair. You feel sorry for her because she might have hard challenges to do the things you are easily able to do. Chaeli Mycroft is a South African child who is challenged by her Cerebral Palsy. Cerebral Palsy is disorders that can involve brain and nervous system functions, such as movement, learning, hearing, seeing and thinking. Chaeli refuses to let her condition disable her. She doesn’t want people to feel sorry for her; she wants to be treated as an equal. At the age of nine, Chaeli wanted to be more independent by having a motorized wheelchair that better suits her. After getting her own wheelchair and experiencing more independence, Chaeli felt that she wanted to help other children who were faced with physical challenges. She started her own campaign called the Chaeli Campaign. Her campaign helps over 3000 children with handicaps by providing them with hope for acceptance and supportive products that allow them to become more independent. She is fighting for hope and equality.

Chaeli is hoping children with disabilities are accepted by others and will receive the same opportunities. Her hope didn’t only come out from her, her friends and her sister also gave her hope to believe in herself. Hope that children with challenges aren’t really different from others. It’s what keeps us striving for the lives we deserve. I have hope for myself, but I also have hope for all other children with disabilities. I hope that my actions as an ability activist will leave the world more accepting and more accommodating for all people and not just people with disabilities, because we are all different and we all have the need to be accepted regardless of having a disability or not.” (From her own speech.)She decided to share this hopes to others. One of her hope is that she will give education. "We run an ECD inclusion programme in disadvantaged communities as well as support children with disabilities in mainstream schools. We have created a supplement to the Life Orientation curriculum that is being introduced into mainstream primary schools that focuses on creating more accepting school environments.(From Chaeli Campaign)" Because, herself noticed that hope is really important, she is giving them education. By giving an education it shows children that somebody believe in them so they can believe in themselves too. Like Chaeli believed in herself.

She is also fighting for the equality for disable children. She is providing a supportive products to make them as be independent as they could be. "Custom-made assistive devices are provided to improve posture and in support of the great work done by our therapists in making children more comfortable in their own bodies, whilst trying to improve functional use of hands and fingers as well.(Chaeli Campaign)" The most common thing that they are providing is wheelchairs. Chaeli wanted to be more independent by buying a wheelchair that supports her. The wheelchair was designed to help her more than any other ones, and to buy that her sister and her three closest friends started to earn money. Chaeli earned so much freedom from that so she decided to do the same thing for handicapped children. “A professional organization that annually helps more than 3000 children with disabilities in South Africa with equipment, physical therapy and which defends the rights and acceptance of disabled children.( The International Children’s Peace Prize)" By earning some money she gave them a wheelchair, hoping that it will give them as much freedom that she earned.

Chaeli Mycroft deserves the 2011 International Children's Peace Prize. Because Chaeli Mycroft is fighting for hope and equality for children with handicaps. She is trying to change the thoughts for disabled children. When you see a child or even a person, they deserves the same rights and the same needs with us. So rethink when you see a children bound to a wheelchair, even with a handicap they are able person.

Question: Why/how is one's individual identity worth fighting for?
When they aren't any personal or individual identity all of us will be the same. We will all think the same, have all the same history. If everyone thinks the same everybody will want to something that you want to do and you won't have any differences with others. People won't have any different color, they all be the same. When this happens life is going to be so boring. This is why personal and individual identity is worth fighting for.

Victory

What I felt sorry for the little girl, seeing her weakened father. Their is a sentence, "There was no fear....... and no hunger," This shows how much she enjoyed dancing with her father, and I think she enjoyed more because she knew that this was the last time and the first time they are going to dance together. It was last time to dance with her father because her father is going to be taken away. This moment was a small victory that she made during she was dancing.

I agree that when people says, "What makes a person a victim is they have limited or no-options about how to act. This statements really fits the the Jews people(victim) during the holocaust. Because Jewish people had to watch even their house and their company get destroyed by the strorm troopers. Some of them had to just go to the camp and wait for their death. In addition, 6 million Jews people got killed in the camp by Nazis(the predators). When the Jews went to the camp they did not had any choices too, because the only thing they do was labor, and wait for their death. Even they were not in the camp when they did not the fallow the rules in Germany even it is not fair, they will get killed by the Nazis. So I do agree with the statement, ''What make a person a victim is they have limited or no-options about how to act.''

Looking at the image.

The picture name includes 'Jew' so I think the grand-father in the picture is Jewish person. Because the person looks like grand-father we looks powerless and he is holding a walking stick that is bent, not straight. The other had is starching out, and it looks like he wants something, and there is also coin on the hand. The wood he is holding represent the Communist. The background is yellow and the man is the focal point.

The drawing is drew as a poster to represent that Jewish people are powerless and they are useless like a bent walking stick. The hand that is starched out could represent, they need somebodies help to survive, and again this might shows the powerless of Jewish people. However, this could be true because Jewish people had to live in Germany even it was not their land. The coin on the hand shows the greedy part of the Jewish people. The Communist sign that he is holding could be the sign that, the Jews want to take over the Germany.

This picture could make German people think, Jewish people are useless so they don't have to be exist in the world, especially, in Germany. The Picture of the man doesn't look clean and doesn't look nice, because of that the man looks disgusting. This can make the German people think Jewish people is disgusting. So this shows the bad message about Jewish people.

Was the Treaty of Versailles- fair or unfair?

I don't think that the Treaty of Versailles was fair. For me the Treaty of Versailles of treaty didn't really exist. In addition, it was just a punishment for Germany and it weaken it. They were some articles on the paper and it was all basically about Germany is going to regret what he had done during WWl. For example, about three of them said that the Germany will respect or recognizes the independence of many country. After all, this was one of the reason why WWll began. Therefor, I think was an unfair treaty and there was no treat of Treaty of Versailles.

My learning profile.

I learn best when I am in my positive attitude also looking at three-dimensional perspective helps me too. When it is noisy around me it is not easy for me to concentrate.

I need to be at my positive feelings because when I am tired I don't do it well as I could be.

The strategies that would that would help my learning could be studying in quiet place, where I can study and concentrate on my work.

I would like my teachers to know about me is that I am not a fast learner. I sometime don't understand and I have to listen to the instruction several times.

Bio poem

Justin, (Jeong woo)
Kind, selfish, shy, bright, respect, mean, and honest.
My most important relationship is friends, pet, and family.
Five things that I love, my dog, phone, computer, friends, and family.
There are five things happen to me and I still remember the feelings:
1) When I first came to America, I was so excited.
2) When I fell down on a sharp things I was feeling that I died.
3) When I first present this year, I was so nervous so I could not think anything.
4) When I got A in humanities, I felt like I had the world.
5) When I got my pat I could not believe that my mother allow to have a pet and have a pet in our house.
I am afraid at insects, ghost, grades, mom, and someone who does bad things(ex:thief, murderer, etc)
I have 5 wishes, losing my weight, having a good eyesight, be more cleaver, be rich when I grow up, and being healthy.
I have some accomplishments, improved my grade last year ,now I have a pet, and I have a good phone now.
And I live in Malaysia.
Choi

Me in three-Justin

I have three meaningful objects. One is my only one diary, another is a sticker book, and the other is a signature that is on a normal paper. All three of them are brought from Korea and it is in my Malaysia house now.

Firstly, I would like to tell you about my diary. I was in the first grade; my Korean school force me to keep a diary so I wrote it. I usually wrote the same things because same thing happened all the day or I was not really interested in writing the diary. And that was the reason why I usually write the same things. When I read my diary now I can still remember what happened those days, even it was almost the same things. Those days I did not like to write it but now when I look at it, it was not waste of time. Even I know that is not waste of time of writing a diary but I don’t write it because I am still not interested in keeping a diary!

Secondly, I will tell you about the sticker book. I know it is kind of girls’ collections to do but it was one of my hobbies. In my school those days I was in the second grade, and in my class everybody started to collect stickers. One day I brought my bran new pencil case with one sticker on it. One of the girls in my class asked me if I have more stickers in my house, so I said, “Yes”. The next day we started to trade some stickers, then everybody started to fallow us, but I still don’t know the reason why. That became popular so I had to and wanted to start collect more and more stickers. Now the book is so thick it cannot be close easily, but now I don’t collect stickers. My mom used to say it is a waste of money, nowadays I agreed with my mother’s thought but it was very fun that days.

Lastly, I will like to tell you about a normal signature on a normal piece of paper. Before I tell you my story, I would like to tell you about my opinion first, because it is related to it! I think meeting a famous star is really cool things to do, getting a signature is cooler things to do, and being a best friend with a famous star’s children is the coolest things to do! What do you think of my opinion? I did the coolest thing! One of the best and most famous soccer players in Korea called Hwang Sun Hong’s and his son was my best friend! And he got a signature for me, and I still have it in Korea. I cannot call him now but my sister is friend with Hwang Sun Hong’s daughter and they still call each other when we were in Korea. Most of the people in Korea knows him so most of the people wants to meet him in person and also get his signature. Hwang Sun Hong’s family now live in Hawaii so it is hard to meet him.

That is my three meaningful objects. I think I can prove that I am missing Korea and my friends there by reading my writing. This three objects, diary, sticker book, and Hwang Sun Hong’s signature, are very important to me so I am taking a good care of it.

History Of My Name.

I have two names, one is Justin, the other is Jeong Woo, and my family name is Choi. I like both of my names because both of them have a good meanings. (Who is not Korean call me my name and my name change to other names like some kind of instrument that make many sounds.) People who aren’t Korean, pronounce my Korean name differently that’s why I have a English name.
In the name Jeong Woo, Jeong means someone who lives ethically, and Woo means outer space. Outer space is so large, with so many different things, It has a possibility to have so many things that we don’t know so it represents the big posibility. My mother wants me to have a variety of skills to know so I can have variety of jobs to choose. When you write Jeong Woo in opposite way it becomes, Woo Jeong, which means friendship in Korean. Jeong Woo is a famous name but Choi Jeong Woo is not famous because my family name is not famous, so I am proud of it. Justin is also a famous name because is common name and also a famous singer’s name. When I type Justin in the dictionary, it says is a boys’ name. I do not have a nick name with my surname but I had different kinds of names since I had two names. For Justin I had two, one is Justin Bieber as you guested and the other one is mango. My nickname is actually mangosteen but people think is too long so they call me mango which doesn’t really fits to me like baby wearing their own father’s shoe.
My parents bought my names from the place where people makes name and buy them. The person who made my name actually gave my parents two choices. My grandfather chose Jeong Woo and when my parents read the name to me they said I was kind of smiling. So they decide to use this name and I am happy about my name.

My favorite book

Title Catching Fire (Hunger Game 2)
Author Suzanne Collins

1. This book made me think about violence. If I was in the game I will be so scared because the game rule is killing each other and you need to survive in the game. But this game is the second game for the main girl charter so the place they fight was the murderer. But the players was trying to escape from the game and protect the girl and boy main character but they were not trying to win the game.

2. This book challenged me as a reader by understanding the sentence. The book use description very well and the most of the description was comparing to something so it took me a wille to understand the all sentence.

3. Don't read this book if you can imagine that your in the book and feel the main character's feelings very well because this book describes the feeling very well and the most of the feeling is not good.

My Spring Break Adventure.

I didn't go any where so I was kind of broad. I complained to my mom because all my friend went some where and they are having fun out there. I was kind of jealous and I wanted to go with them at the same time. I was happy when my mom said we will go to the Club-Med in Put-Cat next year. That happiness was gone so fast because I am not going any where right now!!

Some stuff let my broadness go away. One of the way was reading, I hate reading but I remembered that my friends are reading book called Hunger Game. It was fun and I learned that they have some reason why people read famous books. I can't believe that I finished reading the book in 10 days. The story was mainly about people fighting to win the game, you need to kill people and survive. It is valiant but it is so fun to read because I can imagine the picture in the book.

The other way that let my broadness go away was playing with my friends but the problem is some of my friends are gone and other school did not start the spring break. So I only play with my friends when it is weekends. We went to the Pc room(they have so many computer you can play games with your friends there.) and had fun. We play in Pc room, singing box, play tag inside the apartment, or go to someone's house.

I also sleep over in my house and in my friends house before my friends when to vacation. I did sleep over with my friends 3 times during the break. The first sleep over was in my house, we basically play computer game. The second and third time was in Jung hun's house. Second sleep over we saw some scary stuff. On the last sleep over we made a rubber band gun. We played with that and it was so fun(his house is big enough to play the rubber band gun fight.)

It was boring but I could rest before I went to school. It was too simple to say that it is a vacation. When It was the last day of the holiday, I was happy that I could see my friends but I had two really bad problem that make me worried. During the spring break I sleep really late and wake up really late, that is one of my problem. The other problem was making me angry. My friends was teasing me because other school start the spring break now. Where I live(Ampang) Koreans play all together.

Literature Circles 4

There were little freedom that exist. The people life way were little different from them. I think the people that who are not pasion can't join them because in the book it said they don't mix people in the villige. Their attitude toward tripods were no as seriously as the three boys were.

They were no war going on. their were people there who wanted freedom. Even in the books it says one boy ran out from his humdrum life. Ladies should be gracious and accomplished the boys had to be brave and need courage. they looked the feature, which was being capped. It was one way to become a king night. When you become a king night there is many thing that can help you.

The White Mountains Blogpost

1)How were the Tripods able to control the people?
They capped the people and to be accurate they capped the vergant, they wanted to make them slaves.

2)find evidence (quotation from the novel) to show that even though Will is comfortable living at the castle, he is frustrated that the Comte, Comtesse, and Eloise have been capped.

3)Find evidence (quotes) to show how Will feels about being capped.
He is feeling that he is capped because he could see the tripods very easily and when he runs away they are going to get him. I think that's the reason why he is feeling that he is capped.

White mountains

How is Will just like you?

I think most of the part he is really diffiernt with me but the most smiliar part is that I have pretty same exprience with him. I lived in singapore when I was a kindergaden then I came back to Korea in 1st rade. I did not have many friends and when I got to 3rd grade one boy was disturbing me like Henry bistrubing Will. At least I had many friends that time. I try my best to ignore him but even in 4th grade he is enoring me.

After few month being 4th grade I came to Malaysia. Before I come here the guy that keep distrubing me said sorry to me. He want to be friend with me but he liked teasing many people so he did not have many friends and he was actually nice boy. Before I go to Malaysia I play with him and with my old friends together. It is like just Henry wants to go to the journey with Will
